About Northumblerand Motor Products

Northumberland Motor Products takes it’s name from the beautiful County of Northumberland just east of the Durham Region.

The dealership founded in 2001 by Michael Rainford who is an alumini of Georgian College’s Automotive Marketing program, he spent time with GMAC in various capacities , held pre-owned car management positions with several dealer groups and ultimately began his own dealership as a wholesaler of vehicles in September 2001. Mike believes the key to marketing pre-owned cars is in the buying not only at the right price but with outstanding quality and maintains a reputation with dealers and customers alike for fair dealing and has bought and sold thousands of vehicles.

The original location in Port Hope in the village of Welcome is still in operation today and is a wholesale/budget lot with mostly “AS IS” or handyman special vehicles being sold as traded.

In spring of 2008 a second location was opened in Cobourg with an emphasis on vehicles fully certified and etested and under $10,000 price range.

Today over 40 Quality low mileage vehicles including Cars, Trucks, SUV’s and Vans both import and domestic are displayed on the prominent corner of William and University on the edge of downtown Cobourg.
